The Winning Academy History

Our storied history provides a bright future
HISTORY

The Winning Academy is a Christian school that is dedicated to the training of young minds and is designed to have a profound effect on the education of children from Kindergarten through sixth grade. It evolved as part of the vision of The Winning Church (TWC), which finds a need, meets it, teaches, and reaches the Warner Robins and neighboring communities in Middle Georgia. Our educational philosophy is shaped by the Bible, which we believe to be the infallible Word of the Almighty God.

As the Word of God says in Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it,” our mission focuses on the training and disciplining of children and the maintenance of standards of excellence. It coincides with the development of competent, confident children with a life-long passion for learning. Children that will become successful contributors to society and will also be well prepared for the calling God has on their lives.
In February 1999, the SAC President and Pastor of TWC, Pastor Harvey Bee announced that there was a need for a Christian Tutoring Program in the Warner Robins community. The First Lady of The Winning Church, First Lady Veronica Bee, having faithfully executed her responsibilities as a Home School Educator for the past three years, was empowered to research this idea of a Homeschoolers’ Group. She diligently pursued this effort with all her strength and maintained a positive attitude that she could “do all things through Christ who strengthens her.”

After months of research including numerous phone calls, tons of paperwork, and out-of-town trips, on Monday, August 16, 1999, the need for a Christian Tutoring Program in the Warner Robins community was met and the doors of TWC Home School opened. Our school was in compliance with the requirements of the state of Georgia and was the first of its kind to be instituted in the state. We were blessed to have started with forty students, a dedicated and fully qualified staff consisting of four teachers and one administrator. As we developed, our name was changed to Christian Fellowship Home School.

We are thankful to God for allowing us to realize this portion of the TWC vision. We have only just begun, but have already experienced a tremendous growth in the children – ones that came to us with broken spirits have now been delicately revived through the commitment and dedication of our staff. With encouraging and relaxed teaching styles, our staff has brought out the best in our children. Students now believe that they, too “can do all things through Christ who strengthens them.”

On February 23, 2001, we became an accredited institution by the Accrediting Commission for Independent Study. We also implemented a K-4 program, moved into our new facility and accommodated 70-students. We anticipated 100 students for the next school term. We will continue to maintain our high standards of excellence, by hiring highly qualified teachers and staff to help train, discipline, and educate your child…

We the staff, teachers, and administrators solicit your prayers as the vision expands and the workload increases. We are looking forward to another successful year. Thank you for all your prayers and support
